Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and currently more than 5 million Americans are living with the disease. It's the single most expensive disease in the world, affects people from all demographics, and women in their 60s are more likely to die from Alzheimer's than breast cancer. There currently is no cure or even treatment.
There will be people of all ages at the Walk- from babies in strollers to grandparents in wheelchairs. Dogs, clowns, Zumba, balloons, the whole thing. Alan Krashesky from ABC is the MC, and there will be a live broadcast.
