Join RX to celebrate our Madison and Wabash Bash, a FREE event open to the public on Friday, August 28 from 7-9:30pm.
In partnership with Preservation Chicago, Rebuilding Exchange has received materials (including the station’s facade) from the Loop’s Madison/Wabash CTA station. The green/brown/purple/orange/pink line has served as a transit hub since it first opened in 1896, 119 years ago. The facade will be stored here in waiting until a history museum can exhibit it along with other historically significant items. The rest of the items will be up for sale.
5411 Empanadas and DönerMen will be selling their delicious cuisines, Whole Foods Market Chicago will be providing free desserts, Clif Bar will be serving yummy snacks, C.H.A.O.S. Brew Club will be serving samples of home-brewed 'Upcycle', a citrus wheat beer, and Green Line beer (get it?) will be served by Goose Island Brewery on a donations basis.
Materials will go on sale at 7pm through direct purchase and auction. The warehouse will be open for business as usual during this time as well.
The event will be all ages, but drinks will only be served to those 21+, so please make sure you have your ID.
